Ever run a red light, jaywalk, or speed through a school zone? Some of us have. But none of us should. In our everyday travels, we make decisions that affect the safety of those around us.

Douglas County area residents and visitors are invited to observe pedestrian, bicyclist and motrist safety during the "Street Smart. walk.bike.drive" campaign currently being implemented.

'7 Days of Speed' stops 317 drivers in Douglas County

In July, the Alexandria and Osakis Police Departments,Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the MN State Patrol, together, took to theroads to conduct enhanced speed patrols targeting lead-foot drivers in DouglasCounty.  The effort was part of astatewide “7 Days of Speed” enforcement campaign administrated by the MinnesotaDepartment of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety.
